Job Responsibilities: 1) Develop and implement risk-reduction strategies for existing and new products 2) Work with R&D as well as business teams in commercializing new products 3) Assist with placement of toxicology studies and interpretation of related data 4) Make submissions of new substance notifications 5) Develop and implement (as the Lead Project Manager/team member) strategies to comply with new product requirements (i.e., EU REACH, GHS, Korea, etc.) 6) Lead and participate in internal committees/teams on product stewardship, product defense as well as regulatory affairs matters 7) Collaborate with colleagues in Research, Legal, Environment, Health and Safety, Marketing, Sales, etc. 8) Represent the company on external trade and scientific associations 9) Track and monitor existing and pending regulations/legislation which affect products (i.e. IARC classification, nanotechnology and EU REACH) 10) Suggest associated strategic recommendations and lead appropriate response efforts
Job Requirements: 1) Master’s and/or Ph. D. in Toxicology or health-related science 2) American Board of Toxicology certification 3) Minimum 12 years of experience in product safety and regulatory toxicology (chemical or material manufacturing preferred) 4) Experience in environmental/aquatic toxicology preferred 5) Experience in the notification/registration of new substances globally 6) Experience in using US EPA and EU risk modeling programs (i.e. EPA models, EUSES, etc.) 7) In-depth understanding of mammalian toxicology methods 8) Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills 9) In-depth understanding of global and international chemical control requirements 10) Expertise in inhalation toxicology preferred 11) Ability to work (effectively) both as a leader and a team member 12) Result-oriented individual
